Joanna O'Neill, MA, LPC, NCC - Director of CCH
Joanna received her Masters in Counseling from The College of New Jersey in 1984. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in New Jersey and National Certified Counselor (NCC) by the National Board of Certified Counselors. Additionally, Joanna completed her post-graduate training in Family Therapy at the Philadelphia Child and Family Training Center at Children’s Hospital. With over 35 years experience in the field of mental health counseling, her previous employers were; Trenton Psychiatric Hospital, Princeton Medical Center, Newark Beth Israel Hospital and The Greater Trenton Community Mental Health Center. She was the first Mental Health Counselor in the United States certified in Distance Counseling, and is also certified in the Interactive Metronome, a non-medication approach used in the assistance of those with ADHD. In working with Anxiety Disordered clients, she formulated an exercise to eliminate anxiety and panic which is now available on CD. Joanna’s areas of expertise include Couple and Family Therapy, Anxiety Disorders, ADHD, Depression, Bipolar and Eating Disorders. More than a decade ago it was her vision to make Mental Health Counseling more accessible to the greater Hamilton area bringing the Counseling Center to Hamilton. Joanna also gives lectures to corporations and schools on various mental health topics. Her involvement with the State Incentive Program led her to design and utilize a Violations Management Program with the rehabilitation of first time teen offenders in Trenton. Joanna has been a member of the business networking group, LeTip of Princeton for over 10 years and has served as Vice President and President of the chapter. In her hometown, Joanna served a 3 year term on the Hamilton Board of Education. She is well versed in school policies and parental rights regarding special services for children. Joanna resides with her husband and 3 sons in Hamilton and has a personal understanding of the challenges life stress can bring.
Berrien Crowell-Gordon, MSW, LCSW
Berrien is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in NJ. and received her Master’s degree in Social Work from Boston College in 1983. She has over 30 years experience in the field of Mental Health Counseling and Addiction Treatment. Ms. Crowell-Gordon has worked in a variety of settings; Princeton House, Magellan Behavioral Health Green Spring of NJ, Raritan Bay Medical Center Addiction Outpatient Treatment Center and North Richmond Community Mental Health Center in NY. She has a broad background in treating the full scope of mental health issues and life stressors. Berrien’s expertise is with treating: Depression, Anxiety/Panic Disorders, PTSD, Grief and Addiction. She is a good listener who provides feedback to her clients in a caring and supportive environment. Her focus is on helping her clients improve their coping skills such as Anger or Stress Management and Assertiveness Skills.
Barbara A. Majoros, MSW, LCSW
Barbara is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Rutgers University and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University in NYC. She has worked at Catholic Charities Diocese of Trenton, Princeton House Behavioral Health, and Carrier Clinic. Her work experience has been as a psychotherapist, crisis clinician and inpatient social worker, providing crisis intervention, individual, marital, family, and group therapy. Her areas of expertise include treating depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, grief, stress and anger management. She has experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy and Wellness and Recovery to empower clients to take personal responsibility for their wellness in a supportive and encouraging environment.
Marion Levy Bergmen, MSW, LCSW
Marion Levy Bergman is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 40 years of counseling and social work practice. She continues to work part-time for the Lourdes Health Network; and previously held positions with the University of Pennsylvania’s home health division; worked in refugee resettlement; and has been a Training Supervisor and foster/adoptive home-finder within the child welfare systems of Florida, NY and Pa. As a Minuchin-trained practitioner, Marion worked on the staff of Child Guidance Resource Center in Havertown, Pa as a psychotherapist for 10 years; and has continued to perform individual, family and couple’s counseling on a part-time basis consistently since obtaining her Master’s degree in clinical social work. Marion utilizes family systems, communications, and cognitive-behavioral orientations in providing solutions-focused psychotherapy. Her approach is directive and encourages adults to practice new behaviors to solve ongoing problems in relationships, on the job, and to deal with discomfort within one’s own soul. She encourages use of mindfulness techniques and exposure therapy to deal with anxiety and panic, depression and interpersonal conflict. Marion has resided in Hamilton for the past 12 years.
Ilene Janofsky, CPC – A
Ilene is a Certified Professional Coder – Apprentice and is a member of the American Academy of Professional Coders. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Rutgers University. She previously worked as senior accountant for a CPA firm in Edison, NJ. Ilene also earned a Certificate as a Medical Biller/Coding Specialist from Mercer County Community College. She handles all the billing and insurance matters for the practice and is happy to assist you if any insurance concerns arise. She resides in West Windsor with her husband, three great kids and Cockapoo.
